Looking back at 2013

Once again we have had a year full of great events and achievements to enjoy but also some sad departings as some of our dearest ones unexpectedly left us. We will first commemorate the parted ones in order to end the walk on the memory lane on a happier note.

This year we had to say farewell to O’zone Fresno (20.3.2007-10.52013) aka. “Ares” as an injury he suffered as a puppy started strongly to affect on the quality of his life. Thank You Heidi & Rikard for loving him until the end. In June, two great ladies had to leave us and leave me heartbroken; O’zone Formosa (20.3.2007-18.6.2013) aka. “Åsa” was euthanized due to strange symptoms that started strongly to affect on the quality of her life; in autopsy the major finding to explain the symptoms was copper toxicosis (not DH) of an unknown origin. The grand old lady, Chimera Extra Moravak (21.5.2003-27.6.2013) aka. “Mera” left us just little later due to an aggressive tumor. In July O'zone Houston (13.3.2008-31.7.2013) aka. “Simo” went on the otherside as he had to be euthanized due aggressive lymphosarcoma. Thank YouMinna & Mauri for loving him dearly. In December O’zone Joy (1.10.2009-4.12.2013) aka. “Helmi” left us suddenly as she was run over by a car. Thank You Laura & family for loving her .

We also had many reasons for joy this year, also as we got to celebrate the veteran birthdays of so many of our dogs: Special greeting to Santa Julf Alaska (11 years 07/2013) aka. “Saga” & Heli, O’zone C-litter (10 years 05/2013) & owners, O’zone D –litter (10 years 07/2013) & owners, O’zone E –litter (8 years 08/2013) and of course our FI.RU.EE CH EE VET CH TLN VetWinterCup’13 TLNVW-13 BH Lacrima Christi C’est La Vie aka. “Helmi” 8 years (01/2013).

We also enjoyed many new champions and a record of new International champions in the same litter as in January 2013 CIB.BALT.FI.EE.LV.LT CH BALTW-12 O’zone Indira got her CIB title, in February CIB.BALT.FI.EE.LV.LT CH FJW-09 NORDJW-09 O’zone Ikaros got his CIB and at same international show his son got all his adult champion titles confirmed and later in August also finished CIB and SE CH titles at age only 2.5 years becoming thus CIB.BALT.FI.EE.LV.LT.SE CH BALT.EE.LV.LT JCH TLNJW-12 ÖKV Jugensieger-12 O’zone Lemminkäinen aka. “Ilpo”. In February two new champions also FI.BLR.EE CH BALT.EE.LV.LT JCH HeJW-11 O’zone Lionheart aka. “Oiva” and a rocket entry to the show grounds (she only started in show rings in Jan.2013 at age little over 4 years..) BLR.EE CH TLWinterCup’13 TLNW-13 O’zone Idole aka. “Lumi” whom we expect to finish her CIB in 2014. In March also another new CIB to our I –litter with CIB.BALT.FI.EE.LV.LT.BLR.SE CH O’zone Ilias aka. “Jasu” – so now in all 4 international champions in that litter and a fifth well on its’ way. In March O’zone Kieslowski aka. “Eeka” became FI.EE CH, and in May Danila Master Iz Terletskoy Dubravy became CIB just before he was to return home to Croatia to our friends in kennel Lacrima Christi and our CIB.BALT.FI.EE.LV.LT.HR.SLO CH O’zone Ilmarinen returned to home after a year spent in Croatia. O’zone Narnia did a super debute in show world: 3 international shows in junior class always ending Best Female and either BOB or BOS…May it last And may her family also have enthusiasm to working. Hanna did great job with O’zone Java who now is EE CH BH KK1 KK2 – Super! Also great job with Sanni & O’zone Gothika acquiring BH and KK1 this year – and so many many more to remember from achievements in show and/ or working trials, eg. Harjuntausta family & O’zone Jachal for Dogski competitions, Salomaa family & O’zone Jewel for HK1 this year in addition to earlier fine achievements (PEHA-A, PEHA-B, BH MH) Sanna & Oz. Huron for JK1, Outi and Janne with O’zone Kubrick becoming the first ever official SAR Dog Dalmatian in Finland having passed all his exams, Davor and Lana with Gotti vh Wantij for passing with success IPO1, IPO2 and ZTP and so many many more of You who train, live with and love your dogs in everyday life.

Thank You all, big or small achievements be it in everyday life, show or trial are equally important!

We got two new litters this year: O’zone O –litter (Dalmatian: O’zone Indira & Danila Master Iz Terletskoy Dubravy) was born 13.4.2013 and has already appeared in National Puppy Shows with great results; we are looking forward to next year and them entering the junior class ? O’zone P –litter (Dobermann: O’zone Jewel & Sant Kreal Che Guevara) was born 14.8.2013 and is looking mighty good for temperament & exterior ? Welcome to join the “team” with your families!

We want to thank all owners of dogs from our breeding and all co-owners of our dogs / placement families for this yet another fine year 2013 and we wish You have the same enthusiasm in the New Year 2013 be it in everyday life, in training, in show or in anything You wish to attempt with your dog.

*You want a physicist to speak at your funeral. *You want the physicist to talk to your grieving family about the conservation of energy, so they will understand that your energy has not died. You want the physicist to remind your sobbing mother about the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy gets created in the universe, and none is destroyed. You want your mother to know that all your energy, every vibration, every Btu of heat, every wave of every particle that was her beloved child remains with her in this world. You want the physicist to tell your weeping father that amid energies of the cosmos, you gave as good as you got.

*And at one point y**ou'd hope that the physicist would step down from the pulpit and walk to your brokenhearted spouse there in the pew* and tell him/her that all the photons that ever bounced off your face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by your smile, by the touch of your hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by you. And as your widow rocks in the arms of a loving family, may the physicist let him/her know that all the photons that bounced from you were gathered in the particle detectors that are her/his eyes, that those photons created within her/him constellations of electromagnetically charged neurons whose energy will go on forever.

And the physicist will remind the congregation of how much of all our energy is given off as heat. There may be a few fanning themselves with their programs as he says it. And he will tell them that the warmth that flowed through you in life is still here, still part of all that we are, even as we who mourn continue the heat of our own lives.

*And you'll want the physicist to explain to those who loved you that they need not have faith; indeed, they should not have faith. Let them know *that they can measure, that scientists have measured precisely the conservation of energy and found it accurate, verifiable and consistent across space and time. You can hope your family will examine the evidence and satisfy themselves that the science is sound and that they'll be comforted to know your energy's still around. *According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of you is gone; you're just less orderly.*
